Datuk Abdul Rahim Hashim is the President of the Malaysian Gas Association and the President of the International Gas Union (IGU) for the 2009-2012 Triennium.
A graduate of the University of Birmingham, UK in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Datuk Rahim has worked for PETRONAS for 32 years and has held a number of high profile positions including CEO of PETRONAS Oil Refinery Melaka, and Vice President of the Human Resources, Gas Business and Research & Technology Divisions. He was also the President of the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association (ANGVA). A professional engineer, Datuk Rahim is currently on the Board of the Board of Engineers (BOE) Malaysia and is Chairman of the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) Malaysia. He is an Associate Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and has completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School.

He has responsibility for the development of strategy and long-term commercial ventures across the supply & trading portfolio, and leading BP’s downstream gas development (in support of BP’s upstream activity). He oversees the provision of analytical support for trading and for the management of BP’s response to regulatory change. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer for Gas and prior to that Head of Supply & Trading for European Oil. Kenji Uenishi serves as President of GE Energy in the Asia Pacific region, with responsibility for its three businesses: GE Power & Water, GE Energy Services and GE Oil & Gas. The journey to this role began more than two decades ago when Mr Uenishi joined GE Aviation in Evendale (U.S.) in August 1987, after several years as a Research Engineer at the NASA-Langley Research Center. Kenji’s first role with GE Aviation (formerly known as GE Aircraft Engines) was as an aerospace engineer in its Advanced Technology Operations unit, where he soon progressed to become a senior staff engineer in charge of developing advanced internal and external aerodynamics design technologies. In 1994, Kenji was selected to be a part of GE Aviation’s Global Marketing & Sales Development Training Program. Upon completion of the programme in 1997, Kenji was relocated to Tokyo, Japan where he served as the Regional Sales Director for Marketing & Sales of GE Aviation Japan, and then as its General Manager in 2002. In January 2008, Kenji assumed his current position as President of GE Energy in the Asia Pacific, maintaining his base in Tokyo. Kenji received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from George Washington University in 1983 and an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio in 1993.

He joined Royal Dutch Shell in 1980 and his career has spanned management and executive positions in operations, personnel, and major projects’ screening and execution in the oil, gas, chemicals and metals sectors. He has worked in Europe, the Caribbean, South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. His career started as a mathematician and theoretical physicist at Manchester University and with the UK Science Research Council. His professional interests have included a close relationship with the Institute of Chemical Engineering (UK) in the late 80s when he became a corporate member. He has also chaired many industrial committees on technical issues and sustainable eevelopment, in which he retains close and active interests.

He is also Chairman of the public listed Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad. Mr Taib joined Shell as a graduate in 1990 working as a Wellsite Drilling Engineer in Miri. Emma has been with ExxonMobil for 26 years, having joined Esso UK in 1985 after graduating from the University of Bristol with a BSc Hons in Biology. Through 2000, she held a number of increasingly senior commercial positions in Exxon's Downstream businesses and worked in Exxon Company International in New Jersey for several years. After the merger between Exxon and Mobil in 2000, Emma transferred to ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing working new business development opportunities while based in Houston (2000-2002) and in Doha, Qatar (2002-2005). In September of 2005, Emma transferred into the position of Manager, Americas Gas Marketing, responsible for natural gas, helium and CO2 marketing in the USA, and natural gas marketing in Canada and South America. In April 2008, she became Manager - Negotiations and Contract Development in Commercial Resources and in May 2009, she became Manager, Business Planning and Analysis where she has had global responsibility for strategic planning and economic analysis for ExxonMobil's flowing gas, LNG, power and new business development activities. Effective May 1, 2011, she became Vice President, Asia Pacific, Africa and Power, ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company. She is also a board member of the US-ASEAN Business Council.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Hinda directs the operations of Schlumberger’s portfolio of services and products offerings in this area. Marcel Kramer has been directing the South Stream Transport AG pipeline project since September 2010. His career began in the mid-70s when he took up a role in the Department of Oil & Coal at the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands. From 1979 Mr Kramer held a number of international energy-related positions at NATO Headquarters in Brussels and the Oil Industry Division at the International Energy Agency in Paris. From 1988 he was Director of Crude Oil Supply and Trading in Petro-Canada (Calgary). In 1992 -2003 he worked for Statoil (Norway). In 2003 Mr Kramer joined Gasunie in the Netherlands and he was appointed Chairman and CEO in 2005. In 2010 Mr Kramer was awarded the title of Officer in the Order of Orange - Nassau by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Marcel Kramer is the President of the Royal Dutch Gas Association, is professionally involved in the International Gas Union and the International Association of Energy Economists. Abdelhamid Zerguine holds an engineering degree in hydrocarbons production and transportation. He graduated from the Institut Algérien du Pétrole in 1976. He began his career at Sonatrach, where he was involved in the development of important pipeline projects. From 1978 to 1983, Mr Zerguine served as Technical Director of Alcotra (joint subsidiary between Sonatrach and the Italian Company INCISA). During his career, he was successively Chief Executive Officer of GCB, Sonatrach subsidiary in charge of civil engineering and construction, Vice-President, in charge of the Pipeline Transportation Activity and also Chief Executive Officer of Sonatrach Investment and Participations Holding. He joined the Oil and Gas Division of Norsk Hydro in 1980. Mr Indrebø was assigned to Mobil Oil in USA in 1985 - 1986 before returning to Norsk Hydro's Natural Gas Division in Norway. With over 25 years of industry experience, Kyel Hodenfield is Vice President of Unconventional Resources for Schlumberger. Based in Paris, he is responsible for the R&D strategy, operational support, and marketing of Schlumberger services for shale gas and liquids, coal bed methane and tight gas. Previously, he managed the Reservoir Sampling and Analysis division of Schlumberger Testing Services, where he worked to integrate and expand the acquisitions of Oilphase, DBR and TerraTek. Kyel began his career with Schlumberger in 1985 as a Wireline field engineer. After various roles in sales and management for Wireline and Testing, he transferred to the Drilling and Measurements segment. While with Drilling and Measurements, he served as Vice President of North and South America and later as Vice President of Marketing and Technology, where his global responsibilities included developing, launching, and marketing new drilling and LWD technologies. Kyel holds Bachelor of Science degrees in petroleum engineering and geological engineering from the University of North Dakota.

John Alderton has worked for BG for over 30 years working mostly in upstream exploration area and asset teams, then moving into project management and the exploration leadership team in BG Group. Previous roles with BG include Chief Geologist, International Assets Manager, Exploration General Manager in BG's Egyptian Joint Venture Co and more recently, Exploration General Manager in Brisbane working on the CSG to LNG project in Australia. Mr Alderton is currently the Exploration Manager for Unconventional Gas in BG, based in the UK head office, with the responsibility for identifying international new venture opportunities to enable BG to grow its unconventional assets worldwide. A key part of Mr Alderton's work involves the screening of shale gas plays outside of the US and the management of BG's unconventional assets in Europe. Mr Alderton has also worked on BG's entry into the US shale plays, working with EXCO in the Haynesville and Marcellus shales.

Thomas Walters began his career in 1978 with Exxon Company, USA. He has held several management positions within ExxonMobil’s Upstream companies. As Vice President – Africa, ExxonMobil Development Company, Mr Walters was responsible for project development in continental Africa. Michael Stoppard, Managing Director, is a member of IHS CERA's Energy Research Council. He is a specialist in the international gas business of 20 years standing, and is responsible for the development and coordination of IHS CERA's global and inter-regional coverage of gas markets and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Mr Stoppard currently leads the "IHS CERA European Policy Dialogue", a multi-stakeholder engagement looking at long-term decarbonisation of the European economy. In 2009-10 Mr Stoppard led the development of the IHS CERA Global Energy Scenarios. Before joining IHS CERA Mr Stoppard was a research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. In addition Mr Stoppard served as a Parliamentary Special Advisor on energy regulation for the House of Commons Trade and Industry Committee in the United Kingdom. He is the author of numerous IHS CERA reports, including analyses of business models, gas and power convergence in Europe, and LNG trading. He was co-author with Daniel Yergin of "The Next Prize", published in Foreign Affairs. In 2010, Mr Stoppard also co-authored with Daniel Yergin a Special Paper, "The Voice of Gas". Mr Stoppard holds an honours degree from the University of York.

John was born in Bromsgrove, England. He undertook an undergraduate apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce PLC studying Mechanical Engineering at Salford University in Manchester, England.
